A new 60-seat performing arts venue is due to open in King’s Lynn.
The Workshop will focus on young people and provide dance, music and drama for all ages including babies, and people over 60.
The venue will also offer intervention programmes for seven to 18 year olds facing difficult circumstances, providing an hour of creative games and activities for 10 weeks.
It will open for the Little Red Riding Hood Christmas pantomime on December 16 and is supported by the Garage Trust, a charity based in Norfolk that runs the Garage performing arts venue.
Garage Trust chief executive Adam Taylor said: “We’ve been running a host of projects for young people in King’s Lynn and the surrounding area for a few years now thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund.
“We’re really pleased to be able to back this new venture, which is supported by the Virgin Money Foundation. We’re grateful to be collaborating with them, but the relationship goes much deeper than just helping us establish this base.
It’s also about training staff and supporting us as we reach out to those who wouldn’t otherwise engage with the arts.”
