An actor rehearsing at the Watermill Theatre stepped in to save a different production with just two hours’ notice.
Phoebe Fildes is currently rehearsing for Assassins at the Watermill, but was called on to save its current production of Kiss Me, Kate after Kimmy Edwards, who plays Lois, was unable to go on. She had just two hours of rehearsals.
Director Paul Hart said: “We are very grateful to Phoebe who took to the stage in Kiss Me, Kate with just a couple of hours rehearsals. She has never performed the role before and is currently rehearsing for our next production, Assassins in which she plays Emma Goldman.”
He added: “It’s a huge testament to her professionalism and skill that she covered the part of Lois at the last minute, supported by the rest of our brilliant cast.”
Fildes thanked the cast on Twitter for helping her get through it.
