Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox will join Tom Hiddleston in the cast of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal in the West End, it has been announced.
Betrayal will follow the six-month Pinter at the Pinter season and will run from March 5 until June 1.
Ashton will play Emma in Betrayal alongside Hiddleston in the role of Robert, Emma’s husband, and Cox will play Jerry.
The production is directed by Jamie Lloyd, who is behind the Pinter season. The season, which began in September, is staging all of Pinter’s one-act plays to mark the 10th anniversary of the playwright’s death.
Both Ashton and Cox have appeared in previous productions directed by Lloyd – Ashton in Jean Genet’s The Maids at Trafalgar Studios in 2016 and Cox in The Lover and The Collection at the Harold Pinter Theatre – then the Comedy Theatre – in 2008.
Betrayal opens in March as the Pinter at the Pinter season come to an end with Pinter Seven, which opens later this month and stars Danny Dyer, Martin Freeman, John Heffernan and Gemma Whelan.
Betrayal is produced by the Jamie Lloyd Company, Ambassador Theatre Group Production, Ben Lowy Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions and Glass Half Full Productions.
Press night will be on March 13.
