A new tour of the original production of The Phantom of the Opera has been announced, beginning in Leicester next year.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical has been running in the West End for 33 years, and will set out on a new tour of the UK and Ireland from February 2020.

It will open at Curve on February 24, before visiting Manchester Palace Theatre, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin, Birmingham Hippodrome and Edinburgh Festival Theatre, where it runs from September 23 to October 31, 2020.

Further dates are to be announced.

The musical has music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe, who also wrote the book with Lloyd Webber.

It is produced by Cameron Mackintosh and the Really Useful Theatre Company.
