Susie McKenna and Taio Lawson join Kiln Theatre as associate directors
Susie McKenna, former creative director of Hackney Empire, is joining the Kiln Theatre as an associate director.
She has been appointed alongside Taio Lawson, who was most recently resident assistant director at Sheffield Theatres.
Both will work with the north London theatre’s artistic director Indhu Rubasingham on the “delivery of the artistic programme”.
Their roles will be based within the theatre, on a part-time basis.
McKenna praised the theatre with telling stories that “open windows to understanding each other better”, while Lawson said it told “includible stories across a wide and diverse race of perspectives”.
Rubashingham described the new associates as directors who would bring “breadth, vision and expertise” to Kiln Theatre.
