Showcase to bring D/deaf and disabled actors before casting directors

A two-day event to showcase deaf and disabled actors to casting directors and theatre bosses is being held in London.

The Park Theatre is hosting the event, supported by theatre company Graeae, with the aim of bringing D/deaf and disabled talent to the wider attention of those in positions of power in the sector.

“This is an opportunity to showcase your talent to many, who will be casting and producing numerous productions in their future theatrical seasons,” the venue’s website states.

Park told The Stage it wanted to increase the “number of D/deaf and disabled actors performing on our stages” and described the event was a way of seeing “some of the wealth of extraordinary talent that’s out there”.

“We’ve been really pleased with the response we’ve had, with all the slots now booked. We are keen for other artistic directors and casting directors to join us and would be very happy to hear from anyone working in these roles who would like to attend,” it added.

The two-day event is taking place on May 28 and 31. More information can be found here. [1]
