Layton Williams and Shane Richie to star in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tour
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie stars Layton Williams and Shane Richie have been confirmed for the show’s first UK tour, which begins in 2020.
Williams is currently playing the musical’s title character, and Richie appeared as Hugo/Loco Chanelle earlier this year.
They are the first cast members to be announced for the tour, which begins next February in Sheffield, where the musical premiered four years ago and where it is set.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has music by Dan Gillespie Sells and a book and lyrics by Tom MacRae. It is directed by Jonathan Butterell and produced by Nica Burns.
The West End production is currently booking until January 25, 2020. Beginning the following month, the tour is scheduled to visit 20 UK cities, with a run also confirmed for Amsterdam’s Koninklijk Theater Carré between August 4 and 16, 2020.
A film version of the show is currently in production, starring Max Harwood, Sharon Horgan, Richard E Grant and Sarah Lancashire.
