Jason Manford will return to host the 2019 Olivier Awards, two years after he first presented the ceremony
by -

Jason Manford has been announced as the host of this year’s Olivier Awards, which take place next month at the Royal Albert Hall.

The actor and comedian previously hosted the ceremony in 2017, and will return when the 2019 winners are announced on April 7.

Manford’s theatre credits include The Producers, Sweeney Todd and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and it was recently announced that he will be leading the cast of a new touring production of Kander and Ebb’s Curtains later this year.

Manford said: “I’m absolutely chuffed to bits to be back hosting the Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall. Having worked in theatres all across the country doing both stand-up and musicals for the last 20 years, I know the hard work that goes into putting on a show. It’s a privilege to host this star-studded evening and to celebrate the very best of all areas of British theatrical talent.

Last year’s awards were hosted by Catherine Tate.

The nominations for the 2019 Olivier Awards will take place on March 5 at 1pm, when they will be broadcast live on Facebook.
