Jason Donovan returns to Joseph to play Pharaoh in new London Palladium production

Jason Donovan is returning to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 27 years after he first appeared in it, to play the role of Pharaoh.

Donovan, who played the title role at the London Palladium in 1991, will return to the venue to play Pharaoh from June 27, for an 11-week run.

He joins Sheridan Smith, who is taking the role of the Narrator [1] in the show, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Donovan said: “Joseph was a ground breaker in 1991, and what a blast it will be to be back on the prestigious Palladium stage and be part of it all again, with a brand new cast in this re-imagined 2019 production.”

Joseph is directed by Laurence Connor and choreographed by JoAnn M Hunter, with design by Morgan Large. Lighting is by Ben Cracknell and sound is by Gareth Owen.

The musical is produced by Michael Harrison.
