Janie Dee, Joanna Riding and Hadley Fraser to star in Carousel concert
Janie Dee, Joanna Riding and Hadley Fraser will star in a concert performance of Carousel at London’s Cadogan Hall next month.
Riding and Dee, who are both currently appearing in Follies at the National Theatre, will reprise the roles of Julie Jordan and Carrie Pipperidge respectively. They last played the parts 27 years ago in the NT’s production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, for which they both won Olivier awards.
Fraser, who most recently appeared in the Young Frankenstein in the West End, will play Billy Bigelow.
Performed by a 30-piece orchestra, the concert will be conducted by Alex Parker, and is produced by Jack Maple and Brian Zeilinger for Take Two Theatricals and Quick Fantastic.
It will take place at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea on May 19.
Recent revivals of the musical include a 2017 version starring Alfie Boe and Catherine Jenkins, and a 2018 Broadway production.
