Emma Rice’s production of Wise Children is to be broadcast to cinemas around the UK.

The play was filmed at the York Theatre Royal in March 2019, and will be screened in more than 250 cinemas across the UK and Ireland from October 3, 2019.

It is directed and adapted for the stage by Rice, and the production is the first from her new company Wise Children.

“We’ve had a glorious adventure with our company so far, and the cinema release of our inaugural production, Wise Children, is a wonderful conclusion to the tour. I’m absolutely delighted that a wider audience will get to an opportunity to see our work and revel in the joyful world of Angela Carter’s novel,” Rice said.

Wise Children’s cast includes Sam Archer, Mirabelle Gremaud, Patrycja Kujawska, Etta Murfitt and Gareth Snook.
