Chelsea Halfpenny will join the West End cast of 9 to 5 the musical from next month.

Halfpenny, best known for appearing in Emmerdale and Casualty, will make her West End debut playing Judy Burnly in the Dolly Parton musical at the Savoy Theatre.

She will join Caroline Sheen and Natalie McQueen in the show, alongside Bonnie Langford and Brian Conley.

Halfpenny will take over the role full time on September 2 from Amber Davies, who leaves West End cast to perform in the musical’s UK tour from September 6.

9 to 5, which is running at the Savoy until April 2020, has music and lyrics by Parton, with a book by Patricia Resnick, and is directed by Jeff Calhoun.

It is produced in the West End by Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Selladoor Worldwide and Gavin Kalin Productions with Benjamin Lowy Productions, Glass Half Full Productions, Showtime Theatre Productions, Hartshorn-Hook Productions, Harmonia Holdings and Kilimanjaro Live.
