Theatr Clwyd has picked up four prizes at the Wales Theatre Awards, including best director for Tamara Harvey.

Artistic director Harvey’s production of Uncle Vanya, produced with Sheffield Theatres, also provided a win for Rosie Sheehy in the best actress in the English language category, and best production.

The theatre also shared the prize for best sound, which was won by Sinners Club, produced by Gagglebabble theatre company with Theatr Clwyd and the Other Room.

Four new awards were presented this year, including for touring work in both England and Welsh. They were won by Seiriol Davies’ How to Win Against History and Sieiloc by Rhodri Miles respectively.

The Wales Theatre Awards are presented annually for theatre, opera and dance presented in Wales during the past year.
