Theatr Clwyd has announced it will stage an all-female production of Lord of the Flies in collaboration with the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff.
The show is described as a bold and contemporary staging of William Golding’s novel, which has been adapted by Nigel WIlliams.
It is directed by Caroline Steinbeis, designed by Janet Bird and has been announced as part of Clwyd’s 2018 season.
It runs from September 20 to October 13, with press night on September 26.
Theatr Clwyd’s 2018 programming also includes a first-time co-production with Clean Break on Thick As Thieves, a new play by Katherine Chandler.
It runs from October 11 to 27, with press night on October 17.
Later in the year, the theatre will host three shows in collaboration with Paines Plough, which brings its pop-up theatre, the Roundabout, to Theatr Clwyd in June.
Alongside these productions, three writers in residence will be given the opportunity to work with both companies in the Roundabout to develop their own writing in the Welsh language.
Theatr Clwyd’s line-up for the rest of the year includes the previously announced musical The Assassination of Katie Hopkins and Home I’m Darling by Laura Wade.
