Stagecoach to mark 30th anniversary with UK-wide Disney show
Drama school franchise Stagecoach is marking its 30th birthday by partnering with Disney, in a tie-up that will see more than 6,500 pupils across the UK stage Beauty and the Beast simultaneously.
The theatre school operator is hoping this will set a new world record for the largest simultaneous performance of one show, beating its own record from 2008. At that time, 66 schools around the UK performed musical Glad Rags, but more than double that have already signed up to perform the junior version of Beauty and the Beast.
Beauty and the Beast will be staged by Stagecoach schools on July 1 this year, at 6pm.
The theatre school franchise has also pledged its support to YoungMinds, a charity that champions the well-being and mental health of young people.
Stagecoach is aiming to raise £30,000 over this year for the charity, through special performances and fundraising events.
