Sonia Friedman named one of the world’s most influential people
Sonia Friedman has been named among the 100 most influential people in the world, as part of the Time 100 list.
Friedman, whose production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has just opened on Broadway, is listed under the ‘Titans’ category.
In a citation announcing her position in the list, actor James Corden credits Friedman with understanding “the logistics, nuts and bolts, of putting on a show”.
“And she knows what audiences want to see, even before they do,” he states, adding: “She understands people, what makes them tick. She has an ability to cut through. As we spend more time on great digital experiences — endlessly absorbing content on various screens — we will start to crave great live experiences too. There is no one better to deliver them than Sonia Friedman.”
The list also features actors including Hugh Jackman, as well as London mayor Sadiq Khan and Prince Harry.
