Royal Opera House teases new look as multimillion-pound revamp nears completion
New images of how the Royal Opera House will look when its multimillion-pound transformation is completed have been released.
Among the flagship changes of its multimillion-pound Open Up project are a complete redevelopment of the building’s main foyer and entrance, and redesigns of the Linbury Theatre and Clore Studio.
Construction has been underway since early 2016, and the newly released digital images show a detailed view of how the refurbished areas will look when work is completed in September.
While the main stage’s performance schedule has been unaffected by the construction, the completed project will bring the Linbury Theatre back into use.
The project, design by architects Stanton Williams, is intended to increase public access to the building and make it more welcoming to visitors throughout the day, not just around show times.
