Musical Eugenius! cancels West End run
Musical Eugenius! has cancelled a planned West End transfer, it has been confirmed.
The show, written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins, was meant to be moving to the Ambassadors Theatre from October 27 until January 5, 2019.
However, a spokesman for the show confirmed that the transfer would now not be happening.
According to producer Kevin Wood, a key investor pulled out at the last moment.
“The past few days has been spent frantically trying to replace them but time has run out. In the New Year we will take stock and come again. We have spent too much time and money on this project to just let it die,” he said.
Eugenius! will continue its current run at the Other Palace, where it is playing until October 21. It is directed by Ian Talbot.
More details about the collapsed transfer are expected to be announced soon, but cast and crew are understood to have been told.
It is produced by Warwick Davis, Kevin Wood and George Wood.
