Jemima Rooper, Marc Antolin and Matt Willis cast in Little Shop of Horrors at Regent’s Park
Jemima Rooper will star in the forthcoming production of Little Shop of Horrors at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
She is joined in the cast by Marc Antolin, Forbes Masson, Matt Willis and Vicky Vox.
Rooper and Antolin will play Audrey and Seymour respectively, while Masson will appear as Mr Mushnik.
Former Busted singer Willis plays the dentist, Orin, with US drag queen Vox taking the role of the plant, Audrey II.
Director Maria Aberg said: “The figure of Audrey II represents chaos at the heart of the downtrodden, deeply conventional world of Skid Row. She is everything Seymour’s existence is not – anarchic, queer, wickedly funny.
“Fuelled by Seymour’s own wish for success she grows increasingly demanding, increasingly glamorous, and increasingly unreasonable, until she’s conquered the whole of New York and the show erupts in a huge, defiant celebration of the subversive and the downright fabulous.”
The musical, by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, runs from August 3 to September 15, with press night on August 10.
