The Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester has announced two musicals for 2018 including the UK premiere of Pasek and Paul’s A Christmas Story.

The Manchester fringe theatre will stage the UK premiere of A Christmas Story the Musical, by the creators of Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman.

A Christmas Story has a book by Joseph Robinette, and will be directed by Bronagh Lagan and choreographed by William Whelton.

It is produced by Aria Entertainment and the Hope Mill, and runs from October 26 to December 1.

Earlier in the year, The Return of the Soldier, by Charles Miller and Tim Sanders, is an adaptation of the novella of the same name by Rebecca West, which was written in 1918.

It ran at the Jermyn Street Theatre in London in 2014 and will be revived by the Hope Mill for a production later this year, running from September 6 to 29.

It is directed by Charlotte Westenra and produced by Aria Entertainment and the Hope Mill with Guy James, their second collaboration after Pippin.
