Headlong to stage Richard III at newly refurbished Alexandra Palace
Headlong has announced it is co-producing a new staging of Richard III, with Tom Mothersdale in the title role.
Richard III will tour next year as part of a collaboration between Headlong, Bristol Old Vic and Alexandra Palace, with the Royal and Derngate and the Oxford Playhouse.
It is the first time Alexandra Palace has co-produced a show, and it will run at the London venue’s restored Victorian theatre following a premiere in Bristol in March.
Press night will be on Mach 6 in Bristol and March 14 in London.
It will be directed by John Haidar, and will also visit Home in Manchester, the Oxford Playhouse and the Royal and Derngate in Northampton.
The production will be designed by Chiara Stephenson, with lighting by Elliot Griggs and sound and composition by George Dennis.
Further casting is yet to be announced.
