Haydn Gwynne to replace Linda Bassett in Donmar’s The Way of the World

Linda Bassett has withdrawn from the Donmar Warehouse’s production of The Way of the World due to personal reasons.

She will be replaced in the role of Lady Wishart by Haydn Gwynne.

The cast for the William Congreve restoration comedy also includes Fisayo Akinade, Alex Beckett, Gabrielle Brooks, Phoebe Francis Brown and Sarah Hadland.

Jenny Jules, Simon Manyonda, Caroline Martin, Tom Mison, Justine Mitchell, Christian Patterson, Geoffrey Streatfeild and Nathan Welsh complete the company.

The production is directed by James Macdonald, with design by Anna Fleischle, lighting by Peter Mumford and sound by Ben and Max Ringham.

Movement is by Francine Watson Coleman.

The Way of the World runs at the Donmar, in London, from March 29 to May 26, with press night on April 5.
