Hamilton has announced it is to hold open auditions for roles in its London cast.

The hip-hop musical is seeking male and female singers and dancers from all ethnic backgrounds to perform in the show, which opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre in December.

The advert calls for singers who can rap as well as hip-hop dancers who can also sing.

It says that while artists of all ethnicities will be considered, “it is an intrinsic requirement of the show for the majority of the company to reflect a range of black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds”. The role of King George is not being auditioned for at this time.

Auditions will be held in the next few moths with recalls later in the spring, and applicants must be available for rehearsals from October 8 for a one-year contract.
