The Ferryman to close in the West End ahead of Broadway transfer
Jez Butterworth’s The Ferryman will play its final performance in the West End on May 19 this year ahead of a Broadway transfer.
The play, running at the Gielgud Theatre, opened in June 2017 and was originally billed as a 16-week run.
However, the show extended three times, and its most recent cast includes Rosalie Craig, Owen McDonnell and Declan Conlon.
The show, which originally ran at the Royal Court, will open on Broadway in October this year, playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Creative team and casting has yet to be announced for its New York run.
The Ferryman is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Neal Street Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions.
