Dean John-Wilson to star in West End The King and I

Dean John-Wilson has been cast in the West End transfer of The King and I, which opens at the London Palladium in June.

The show has also extended its London season by three weeks and added five mid-week matinees.

It comes to London following a Broadway run at the Lincoln Center Theater that saw the musical win four Tony Awards.

Alongside John-Wilson, who recently played Aladdin in the West End, the cast will include Na-Young Jeon, whose credits include the West End production of Les Miserables and the world tour of Miss Saigon.

The production stars the previously announced Broadway performers Kelli O’Hara, Ken Watanabe and Ruthie Ann Miles, who was recently involved in an accident in New York. [1]

The King and I is directed by Bartlett Sher and runs at the London Palladium from June 21 to September 29, with a press night on July 3.

It is produced by Howard Panter for Trafalgar Entertainment Group, GWB Entertainment, Book My Show, Tokyu Theatre Orb, Tulchin/Bartner and David Lazar, in association with Kham Inc.
