Dates for return of National Theatre’s Follies confirmed

Follies will return in February next year.

Dates for the return of Stephen Sondheim musical Follies have been confirmed, with the production running in the Olivier Theatre from February 14, 2019.

The show will see Janie Dee and Peter Forbes reprise their roles, with further performers yet to be confirmed.

The show is currently on sale until March 26, with further performances to be announced, the National said.

The National has also announced a production of musical Hadestown, which has already run Off-Broadway in New York and in Canada.

The production features music, lyrics and a book by Anais Mitchell, and is directed by Rachel Chavkin.

It is a retelling of the ancient Greek myth Orpheus and Eurydice.

Hadestown runs from November 2 to January 26, with press night on November 13.

Further casting has also been announced for Exit the King, a new version by Patrick Marber, which stars the previously announced Indira Varma and Rhys Ifans and opens in July.

Joining them will be actors including Amy Morgan and Adrian Scarborough.

Meanwhile, Laura Wade’s Home, I’m Darling will also feature Richard Harrington, Sian Thomas and Kathryn Drysdale alongside the previously announced Katherine Parkinson.
