Caroline O’Connor to star in Kander and Ebb’s The Rink
Caroline O’Connor is to star in Kander and Ebb’s The Rink at Southwark Playhouse.
Currently starring on Broadway in Anastasia, O’Connor has appeared in productions such as Mack and Mabel, and Chicago.
She will star as Anna in the musical, about a housewife who owns a roller-skating rink and is about to sell it to developers.
The musical originally premiered on Broadway in 1984, starring Chita Rivera and Liza Minelli.
It has a book by Terrence McNally, and the new production is directed by Adam Lenson, with choreography by Fabian Aloise. Musical direction is by Joe Bunker and casting is by Jacob Sparrow.
It will run from May 25 to June 23, with a press night on May 29.
It is produced by Jack Maple and Brian Zeilinger.
