Alexandra Burke and Michael Ball to star in Chess revival
Michael Ball and Alexandra Burke are to star of Chess in the West End.
The revival of the musical, by Benny Andersson, Tim Rice, and Bjorn Ulvaeus, will run at the London Coliseum from April 26 for a five-week season.
Star of the original 1986 production Murray Head, and Mike and the Mechanics lead vocalist Tim Howar have also been cast. They will be joined by actor Cassidy Janson.
Directed by Laurence Connor, the production will feature English National Opera’s orchestra and chorus, conducted by John Rigby with choreography by Stephen Mear.
Chess is produced by Michael Linnit and Michael Grade in collaboration with English National Opera, by arrangement with Three Knights Limited, the Shubert Organisation Inc and Robert Fox Limited.
