Wicked announces new West End cast
West End musical Wicked has announced new cast members, who will take over on July 24.
Alice Fearn will take the role of Elphaba alongside Sophie Evans as Glinda. Evans was runner-up in BBC talent show Over the Rainbow in 2010.
Fearn has been standby Elphaba since 2016 and has previously appeared in Les Miserables and Shrek the Musical.
Other new cast members include Bradley Jaden, Melanie La Barrie, Andy Hockley, Jack Lansbury and Laura Pick.
Martin Ball, Sarah McNicholas and Carina Gillespie will continue in their current roles, while current cast members, including Willemijn Verkaik, will play their final performance on July 22.
Stephen Schwartz’s musical is now in its 11th year at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. It is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, the Araca Group, Jon B Platt, David Stone and Michael McCabe.
It is currently booking until May 26, 2018.
