Callow, Stoppard and Jacobi to attend Shaffer memorial at NT
A memorial gala will be held for playwright Peter Shaffer at the National Theatre on March 30.
The playwright, who died last year, will be remembered by stars including Simon Callow, who will present the afternoon event, as well as Maggie Smith, Ian McKellen, Tom Stoppard and Daniel Radcliffe.
Shaffer was known for plays including Equus and Lettice and Lovage. His most famous play, Amadeus, won him an Academy Award for best adapted screenplay and was revived by the National Theatre last year in a production starring Lucian Msamati.
It was announced recently that the production will return in January 2018.
A limited number of tickets to the event are being made available to the public for free. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
