Sophie Watson appointed executive producer of English Touring Theatre
English Touring Theatre has announced Sophie Watson as its new executive producer.
Watson will take up the role in July, after she finishes in her current role as producer at London’s Bush Theatre.
She replaces Jane Claire, who will continue to be involved with ETT, and joins artistic director Richard Twyman following his appointment in 2016.
Watson said: “I am enormously excited to be joining ETT and working alongside Richard to lead the company into a new chapter.
“ETT is a hugely ambitious theatre company that can use its distinctive voice to redefine English theatre and bring the highest-quality work to the most diverse audiences all over the country.”
Twyman added: “Sophie is an immensely talented producer and the perfect person to help drive the company forward in the coming years. Her experience in new writing and regional theatre will be of real value as we shape the future of the company together.”
Watson’s previous roles include producing and programming manager at Watford Palace Theatre, and working with companies including Paines Plough and Rifco Arts.
