Shona White appointed ‘patron’ of ATG’s Playhouse Theatre
Scottish actor and singer Shona White has been appointed the first patron of the West End’s Playhouse Theatre.
She also becomes the first patron to be appointed to a theatre operated by Ambassador Theatre Group, the UK’s largest venue operator.
According to ATG, as patron, White will create “links” between producers and the theatre as well as help to raise the venue’s profile. In a bid to make the Playhouse a landmark theatre, she will also host a series of events for the theatre, which are to be announced soon.
White said: “I am thrilled to become patron of such a historic venue which holds a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to supporting the Playhouse as it goes from strength to strength.
“I feel privileged to have performed on stage at the Playhouse and as patron I am keen to help promote the venue to ensure its future success.”
White has previously appeared in The Rocky Horror Show at the Playhouse.
Theatre manager Jenna Harvey said: “The Playhouse is honoured and delighted that Shona has accepted our invitation to become patron. It’s wonderful to have someone of her calibre on board to represent the theatre.”
