Rhys Ifans to star in new Joe Penhall play

Rhys Ifans is to return to London’s Old Vic Theatre to star in the world premiere of Mood Music.

Joe Penhall’s play, which is directed by Roger Michell, runs from April 21 to June 16, with press night on May 2.

Ifans, who is currently starring in A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic, plays a producer in Mood Music, which explores the “dark side of the music industry”.

Set design is by Hildegard Bechtler, costume is by Dinah Collins, lighting is by Rick Fisher and sound is by John Leonard. David Arnold is the composer and musical supervisor.
