Bill Kenwright’s 50 years in showbusiness is to be marked with a special concert that will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

The concert will be presented by Don Black and feature performances from productions Kenwright has produced during his career, including Blood Brothers, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Performers taking part include Marti Pellow, Joe McElderry, John Partridge, Kiki Dee and Glenn Carter. They will be accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra.

The special Friday Night Is Music Night concert will be broadcast on June 2 on Radio 2.

The show is being recorded at the London Palladium this week.

Kenwright said: ““I’m really humbled that Radio 2 should honour me in this way. It’s going to be a lovely night.”
