Sean Scanlan has died aged 68.
The Scottish actor, known for his work on both stage and screen, died from cancer, it has been reported .
His stage credits include work in Scottish theatres the Traverse, Glasgow Citizens and Tron, while he also appeared in productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company and London’s Royal Court.
He was best known to television audiences for his role in the Scottish comedy series Rab C Nesbitt.
Tributes were paid on social media by industry figures including David Greig, artistic director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, and Glasgow Citizens artistic director Dominic Hill.
