One Dance UK’s Sue Wyatt to lead English National Ballet School
One Dance UK chair Sue Wyatt has been appointed director of the English National Ballet School.
She will replace Delia Barker, who leaves the post after seven years to take up a position at the Roundhouse.
Wyatt is a former chief executive of contemporary dance company Rambert, and has also been vice-chair of the Council for Dance Education and Training.
Wyatt said she was delighted to be joining the school, as it prepares to move to a new multimillion pound home in east London, housed alongside the English National Ballet company.
“Bringing school and company together within the same building will hugely enhance the educational experience of the students and also be an opportunity to reaffirm the school’s position as one of the world’s finest ballet schools,” Wyatt said.
She joins the school in April, and will oversee the planned move in 2018.
The school’s chair Steve Sacks said Wyatt would bring “a wealth of knowledge and experience within the dance and education sector”.
“[She] will be a tremendous new addition to the school,” he added.
