EastEnders’ Nina Wadia and Sara Stewart have been cast in the UK premiere of Jen Silverman’s Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties.

Wadia and Stewart are to lead the all female company, and will be joined by Lucy McCormick, Beatriz Romilly and Genesis Lynea.

Directed by Charlie Parham, it first opened at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington DC last year and will run at London’s Southwark Playhouse from January 24 to February 17.

Press night will be on January 29.

Described as a “queer and occasionally hazardous exploration”, the production tells the story of five women named Betty living in New York and is influenced by “cabaret and female drag.”

Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties is produced by Antic Face and Nik Holttum.
