National Theatre’s Hedda Gabler to tour the UK
The National Theatre production of Hedda Gabler is to tour the UK later this year.
Patrick Marber’s new version of the play, directed by Ivo van Hove, is currently running in repertoire at the National Theatre.
Marber described working on the production as having been “a great honour”, adding: “I am thrilled that this tour will enable more people to see his incredible production.”
It has not been confirmed whether the show’s stars, Ruth Wilson and Rafe Spall, will reprise their roles for the tour, and no casting has yet been announced.
Hedda Gabler continues its run in London until March 21. The production will resume again on tour, beginning at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in October.
It runs there from October 2 to 7, before visiting venues including Leicester’s Curve, Hull New Theatre, the Royal and Derngate in Northampton, Edinburgh Festival Theatre and Milton Keynes Theatre, where the tour will finish on March 3, 2018.
Further dates are to be announced.
