Musical about the assassination of Katie Hopkins announced at Theatr Clwyd
A new musical about the assassination of media personality Katie Hopkins has been announced as part of Theatr Clwyd’s new season.
It will run in the Emlyn Williams Theatre at the Welsh venue from April 20 to May 12, with press night on April 26.
The Assassination of Katie Hopkins has music by Matt Winkworth and book and lyrics by Chris Bush.
Paines Plough artistic director James Grieve directs the musical, which “questions how free should free speech be” after “a shocking crime divides the nation”.

The Great Gatsby will run at the Dolphin Hotel in Mold from February 22 to March 25, with press night on February 27.
Also included in the season will be the previously announced National Theatre co-production Home, I’m Darling by Laura Wade.
It runs at the Emlyn William Theatre from June 25 to July 14, with press night on July 3, before transferring to the National’s Dorfman.
