Janie Dee to star in new Torben Betts play
Janie Dee is to star in the world premiere of Torben Betts’ Monogamy, which tours in 2018.
Dee, who is currently appearing in Follies at the National Theatre, will play a television chef in the play. Dee has previously starred in Betts’ adaptation of The Seagull at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2015.
The production is directed by Alastair Whatley, with design by James Perkins and lighting by Chris Withers.
It is being produced by the Original Theatre Company and Ghost Light Productions, and opens at the Festival Theatre in Malvern on May 2.
It embarks on a short tour, to the Yvonne Arnaud in Guildford and York Theatre Royal before running at the Park Theatre in north London from June 6 to July 7.
A national press night will take place in London on June 11.
Further tour venues are to be announced.
