Full casting announced for National Theatre’s Follies
Zizi Strallen will join the cast of Follies at the National Theatre, in a production that stars the previously announced Imelda Staunton, Janie Dee and Tracie Bennett.
Strallen will play the young counterpart of Dee’s character, Phyllis, with Alex Young and Emily Langham playing the younger versions of Staunton and Bennett’s parts.
The Stephen Sondheim musical, which is being staged at the National Theatre for the first time, runs from August 22 to November 4, with press night on September 6.
The 37-strong cast also includes Philip Quast, Dawn Hope and Leisha Mollyneaux.
Directed by Dominic Cooke, the production has choreography by Bill Deamer, design by Vicki Mortimer, lighting by Paule Constable and sound by Paul Groothuis.
Musical supervision is by Nicholas Skilbeck, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick and musical direction by Nigel Lilley.
