Doctor Who star Freema Agyeman to join Stockard Channing in family drama
Doctor Who star Freema Agyeman has been cast in Alexi Kaye Campbell’s Apologia at London’s Trafalgar Studios.
She joins Stockard Channing in the family drama, as previously announced.
Agyeman, who played Martha Jones alongside David Tennant as the Doctor in the long-running television show, makes her stage debut in the role.
She said: “It’s right up my street and had me roaring with laughter. It’s fun. It’s clever. It’s deeply insightful.
“And I feel I couldn’t be in safer, more experienced hands for my theatre debut than those of Alexi Kaye Campbell and Jamie Lloyd. Or in better company than the inimitable Stockard Channing.”
Desmond Barrit and Joseph Millson will also star in the production, which is directed by Jamie Lloyd.
It is produced by Howard Panter for Trafalgar Entertainment Group, DB Productions and Broadway’s Dodger Theatricals.
Apologia will run from July 29 to November 18, with press night on August 3.
