Casting announced for Strangers on a Train tour
Christopher Harper and John Middleton are to lead the cast of a new production of Strangers on a Train.
Harper, currently appearing in Coronation Street, will play Charles Bruno, while Middleton, who left Emmerdale earlier this year after more than 20 years, has been cast as detective Arthur Gerard.
Cast alongside them are actors Jack Ashton, who appeared in Call the Midwife, and Hannah Tointon.
Based on the psychological drama of the same name by Patricia Highsmith, which was later adapted into a film by Alfred Hitchcock, the play will open in Brighton’s Theatre Royal on January 5.
It is written by Craig Warner, directed by Anthony Banks and is being produced by Ambassador Theatre Group and Smith and Brant Theatricals.
The production will set out on tour from January 5 to March 31. Locations include Brighton, Sheffield, Glasgow, and Birmingham.
