Battersea Arts Centre to hold fundraiser for Grenfell Tower victims
Battersea Arts Centre is to hold a fundraising show in order to support those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
Seventeen people are so far confirmed to have died in the fire, which hit the west London tower block on June 14, however many others lost their homes and possessions in the incident.
Hosted by Daniel Kitson, the event will feature a line-up of comedians including Josie Long, Jeremy Hardy, Heydon Prowse, Imran Yusuf and Mark Thomas.
Thomas said: “Like every Londoner I am shocked, sad and angry about the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower. But it is not enough to feel these things, we need to support those in need. Organising a fundraiser is the least we can do to help our fellow Londoners.
“After the fire at Battersea Arts Centre [in 2015] and the support people gave, it is fitting that the organisation should now be hosting an event to help others.”
Tickets to the event, on June 19, are £25, with all proceeds going to the Grenfell Tower Appeal.
Further acts will be announced.
