Rosemary Squire announced as co-chair of Hall for Cornwall
Ambassador Theatre Group co-founder Rosemary Squire has been named co-chair of theatre venue Hall for Cornwall.
Squire, who stepped down as joint chief executive of ATG earlier this year, joins Chris Pomfret as co-chair. They succeed Sue Wolstenholme, who stood down in August after 13 years.
Currently deputy chair of ATG, Squire is also chairman of Sonia Friedman Productions.
She said: “I am absolutely delighted to co-chair this board with Chris, it is an honour to be a custodian of Cornwall’s largest theatre, especially at this time with the bold and transformational capital project.”
She added: “I look forward to working with Julien Boast [director of Hall for Cornwall] and his fantastic team and supporting them with my many decades of experience in the theatre,” she said.
Boast described Squire and Pomfret, who is chair of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, as a “dynamic and influential partnership”.
He added that their joint skills would be a “powerful combination” in helping Hall for Cornwall to be a “leading venue within the South West”.
