Rebel Wilson will join the West End cast of Guys and Dolls for an eight week run in the summer.

The Australian film star – known for her roles in comedies like Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids – will make her West End debut in the musical, playing Miss Adelaide at the Phoenix Theatre from June 28 until August 21.

Wilson revealed the news on Twitter, adding she was “so excited” to be starring on the West End stage for the first time “in this classic musical”.

She will replace Samantha Spiro in the West End production – currently starring alongside Olivier Tompsett, Richard Kind, Billy Boyle and Jason Pennycooke.

Choreographer Andrew Wright confirmed the major casting news on his Twitter account.

Guys and Dolls is produced in the West End by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, Oliver Royds for BOS Productions, Richard Darbourne and Tulchin Bartner Productions.
