Paddleboat and Metta sign up as Exeter Northcott Theatre associates
Paddleboat Theatre Company and Metta Theatre have been named associate companies at Exeter Northcott Theatre.
Touring clowning company Le Navet Bete will also join as associate company, and all three will receive mentorship, production support and help with marketing as part of their appointment.
Exeter Northcott artistic director Paul Jepson said: “These bright young companies are committed to the South West and we’re helping them to flourish in the midscale.”
Matt Freeman, from Le Navet Bete, described the appointment as a “really positive step” for the company.
“It feels like our company has cemented itself within the city,” he added.
Metta Theatre, which recently performed its production of Jungle Book at the theatre, said it had four shows planned to premiere at the theatre over the next two years.
Meanwhile, Paddleboat Theatre said being an associate company was “really vital for us to keep moving our work forwards”.
