Actors Noma Dumezweni and Juliet Stevenson will join comedians Jo Brand and Sara Pascoe at a mentoring event for young female students.

It is being organised as part of Southbank Centre’s WOW – Women of the World day, on October 11.

The ‘speed mentoring’ event on the London Eye, which will also feature Cherie Blair and former education secretary Nicky Morgan, is expected to be attended by 250 schoolgirls.

Following the mentoring sessions, aimed at inspiring the participants, there will be a day of workshops and discussions at the Southbank Centre, including a conversation between journalist Caitlin Moran and Southbank Centre artistic director Jude Kelly.

October 11 marks UN International Day of the Girl.
