Casting announced for Open Air Theatre’s Pride and Prejudice

Matthew Kelly is to star in Pride and Prejudice at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

Kelly will play Mr Bennett in the production, alongside the previously announced Felicity Montagu as Mrs Bennett.

Tafline Steen and Benjamin Dilloway will feature as Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcey respectively, with Dona Croll playing Lade Catherine De Bourgh.

The Jane Austen adaptation concludes the Open Air Theatre’s season, running from September 2 to 17. It will then tour the UK, visiting locations including Cambridge, Salford, Leicester, Newcastle and Cardiff, where the tour is scheduled to finish in February 2017.

Directed by Deborah Bruce, the production has been adapted from Austen’s novel by Simon Reader.

Design is by Max Jones, with costumes by Tom Piper, sound by Matt McKenzie, music by Lillian Henley and movement by Sian Williams.

The cast also includes Hollie Edwin, Mari Izzard, Leigh Quinn, Anna Crichlow, Jordan Mifsud, Steven Meo, Daniel Abbott, Kirsty Rider, Francesca Bailey, Charlotte Palmer and Mark Rawlings.
