Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall appoints Andrew Bolt as chief executive
Andrew Bolt, former general manager of Australia’s Perth Concert Hall, has been appointed chief executive of the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
John Sharkey, executive vice president of venue operator SMG Europe praised Bolt’s “proven track record in delivering artistic leadership”.
Bolt takes up his new post on March 14, replacing Nick Reed, who left to join Birmingham’s Town Hall and Symphony Hall.
Bolt said he was “excited and thrilled” to be joining the Manchester venue and added that he was looking forward to continuing to promote “this wonderful performing arts facility within the cultural life of both the city and nation”.
He was general manager of Perth Concert Hall for 21 years. As a senior member of the Perth Theatre Trust he had executive responsibilities for venues including His Majesty’s Theatre and the Playhouse Theatre.
